Hualapai Indian Reservation

The Network was conceived in 1989 when Dr. Mha Atma Singh Khalsa, a Los Angeles chiropractor, decided he needed to do more than just heal his patients. He wanted to do something to help heal our planet. He read in an activist guidebook that a single letter on an issue received by a government or private entity was considered to represent the views of 100 to 1000 voters or consumers. So he began writing letters to elected officials, corporate presidents, and other influential people based on the information in the many newsletters and reports that he received from the many environmental and social action organizations of which he was a member.

At the suggestion of a friend, who pointed out that there were many folks who felt strongly about the health of our planet and would love to send the same letters, he developed a data base on his computer of friends and patients who wanted to send the letters. The idea grew quickly, and Earth Action Network was born.

Earth Action Network remains a small, non-profit, grassroots project, growing mostly by word of mouth. Dr. Mha Atma still writes the letters, with help from his wife, kids, and friends in stuffing the envelopes. Earth Action Network's new web site now allows members to download the letters directly or to receive them via e-mail. There are now members throughout the U.S.

You can use this site to download a monthly packet of customized letters from you to elected representatives, government officials, corporate leaders, and other influential people regarding crucial issues affecting our planet and our future. All you have to do is print, read and sign the letters, address and stamp envelopes, and mail them! The "power of the pen" is strong, and the folks who receive your letters WILL sit up and take notice.

If you prefer, you can sign up as an Earth Action Network member. You can choose to receive pre-printed customized letters in the mail, ready for you to sign, address and send. Or you can choose to receive a packet of letters each month via email in Word for Windows format, fully customized and ready for you to print.

Additional benefits to YOU for participating will include:

  • Increased self-esteem from the good feeling that comes from doing something to help heal our planet.
  • Improved awareness and understanding of important environmental and other issues.
  • Interesting reading in your mailbox when you start receiving replies to many of your letters.

You will find our current month's letter packet on this site. You can browse through them and print any or all that you care to send. You can return here any time to browse through our current letters, OR you can sign up for our monthly snail-mail or e-mail letter packets. And encourage your friends and neighbors to participate. Every person can make a difference... and the greater our numbers, the more powerful our message!

Hualapai Indian ReservationEarth Action Network is a letter-writing network designed for folks who really care about what's happening in the world, and would like to send letters to influential people (elected officials, corporate presidents, etc.) about how they feel...but just don't seem to have the time and energy to do it. Network members get a packet of personalized letters each month to sign, address and send. Members can choose to receive their customized letters pre-printed via U.S. mail or in an attached file via email. Non-members who want to send some or all of the letters can visit our web site any time to customize and download letters.

Earth Action Network members are asked for a modest annual contribution ($25) to help cover our expenses. (All of our "staff" are volunteers.) The donation is optional--anyone willing to send their letters can participate even if they can't contribute.

Network members get a packet of 4, 8 or 12 personalized letters each month to sign, address and send. The laser-printed or e-mailed letters contain their own name and address heading on top, and are addressed to their own elected representatives (or to other leaders).

Earth Action Network letters are often written in conjunction with larger letter-writing campaigns sponsored by national and international organizations fighting for environmental, social, and human rights reform. The letters get results, and every member receives many responses from their members of Congress, foreign governments, multi-national corporations, and other letter recipients.

Network members are enthusiastic about sending their letters, and grateful for the opportunity to really make a difference.
